Hi all,
I made my first guitar bodies last year on a background of tinkering & assembling guitars but zero woodwork experience.
I built this one for my brother's 40th -

One-piece chambered korina back, quilt maple top. I made lots of mistakes and learned a lot.

Then I wanted to make some more - for me!
Here's my laminate explorer with Kahler Pro, Motherbucker and Sustainer -

Didn't like the Mobo so it now has a Screamin' Demon. Woods are purpleheart, london plane (lacewood), birdseye maple and padauk.

Next is my padauk hollow body with a lace burl redwood top, P-Rails, Schaller Hannes bridge. It plays and sounds great and has become my favourite guitar...

I will put some of my works in progress in that section, too - one piece amboyna burl tele, rosewood gothic, mahogany+quilt maple bass. I'll be making some necks, too.

Embarrassed Any idea why there's a vertical scroll bar? The pics fitted nicely in preview?

Thanks. Not thought of it as a dolphin before....
Having seen some of the intense emotionaloutpourings on Project Guitar forum over 'intellectual theft' I feel obliged to point out that the padauk one isn't an entirely original shape - it's inspired by Scott French - http://www.scottfrench.com/s/Instruments/Designs/SF3%20Design

Whats your thoughts on the schaller bridge? It looks a little tricky to install. According to the instructions it needs an 11mm router bit. Where do you get one of those?

I really like the EXP.

I meant it's similar to a warwick 'Dolphin' bass. I guess they must have 'borrowed' the design from Scott French too  Cheesy ...unless it was the other way around  Undecided

I tried to create an original guitar shape the other day...only to discover Id drawn a quite accurate Godin SD  Cheesy

Yes, not the easiest. 11mm router bit? I thought about a 1/4" bit and a template but in the end made six 11mm drill holes and joined them up with files and chisels.   Roll Eyes
It's a unique guitar so I can't say what it would sound like with a different bridge but I'm happy with it now it's fitted. Not sure it justifies the expense or fitting hassle, though.
